Upload new product listings to the front of each category page instead of the last
It would be helpful for all new product listings to be added to page one of the category page so that returning customers will see new products without having to scroll through the same product pages...which I doubt they ever do anyway. This will help our website look fresh and encourage more sales.
1 voteHi Karen, thank you for reporting this. I’ve reviewed the code and made this change to make sure all new products as of tonights release will be added to the top of the list.
Thank you. -

An update and close button
On product pages in product manager it would be helpful to have an update and close button so that you don't have to wait for the page to load again before you close the product.

A quarterly newsletter, detailing the new features and upgrades and other bespoke bits of work that may interest others.
I only found some new side bar apps because I was doing work on the site, but they are great apps why not shout about it - especially because you give us these for 'Free'!

Responsive Design
This is a major addition but a necessary one. Responsive design would allow us to make our content much easier for users to read on non-computer devices.

Dynamic Tags on search
"It would be fantastic if the filter tag app was 'dynamic' in that tag groups would only display if the visitor was 'in' a category that featured products that use particular tags.
For example, we sell audio equipment, and have tag groups for "Microphone types" and "Microphone Polar Patterns" as well as "Number of Mixer Channels". It would be less confusing for the customer if - when they are in the parent Microphone category - they are only shown the tag groups for "Mic Types" and "Polar Patterns", and all non-microphone related ones would not appear."
1 voteHi Ben, this item is now available in product filter.

Set base delivery service
If a new user registers on our website - but does not enter a delivery address - and then makes a purchase, they are told that they qualify for free delivery. However, when they then enter a delivery address, the REC calculates the cost (depending on the zone of their del. address) and shows them the costs.
It would be good if we could set a "base service" that will display even if an address is not entered, which will be overwritten when an address is given.

Sort Downloads in Date Order
For downloads page (APP) the most recent download current situates at the bottom of the list from a users point of view they probably want the latest download at the top not searching all the way to the bottom of it. E.g PDF Newsletters etc would be a nice to be able to move the downloads around in downloads manager or be able to search by date, size, or alphabetically on front end of the site. Or something on this kinda of thing.
1 voteAs of the latest release (2.9.1) you can now drag and drop all the downloads into any order you wish.

eNewsletter view online under a newsletter app thing ?
Basically when you send out a enewsletter thru the email manager, you then go to your inbox you see a link saying having trouble reading this click here to view online. It then opens up the browser goes to the website and loads the newsletter up. What would be nice is there to be an app which pulls up like the blog in date order of the history of newsletters that have gone out. We have had many clients ask for this and currenltly have 3 clients enewsletters going out which we have to convert to pdf then upload and…

"You Save" percentage displayed on sale items
The "special offer" styling is great, but it would be fantastic if users were shown the percentage they are saving (eg: if the original product price is £200, the special price is £150 - "You save 25%!").

Search items by relevance, price, quantity etc
Front end of shop have drop downs to search the category or products by relevance, price low to high or high to low, best sellers, featured, a-z, z-a, customer rating. Like play.com, argos.co.uk etc, big when client has 300 items in one category you may want to search by one of these types of options. I think it would be usefull :)

Predictive Search
Possibly suggestions for search terms In the search input field, much like Amazon, Google instant, etc.
Alternatively, some kind of 'live-filtering' system where particular products are displayed in a fluid content area without the visitor needing to press enter.

introduce a "compare selected products" function
A 'compare selected products' would be very useful, as it would allow users to easily see how different products they are interested in stack up against each other.
For an example, see http://www.dinkumsystems.com/the-lens-shades/?sort=featured&page=1
I would, however, suggest that the function appear as a pop-up window (like the cart does at present) rather than taking visitors to another page, and away from the product page they were originally on.
3 votesThe template system is now flexible enough to build in this functionality with any custom style needed.

styled product banners
styled ‘banners’:
perhaps an alternative to the simple diagonal stripe...
example
http://www.flickr.com/photos/87682721@N07/8026190991/in/photostream7 votesThis is now possible by a designer for the store as of the responsive design changes giving the designers much more flexibility.

incorporate a tracking number field in the admin area
After an order is received and is ready to be despatched, we manually e-mail the customer with a link to the website of the courier that will deliver their goods and a tracking number for them to use to track their order in transit.
It would be great if, when we update the status of an order (eg: changing it to 'order despatched'), there were two fields where we can enter the website for them to visit, and their tracking number, both of which would be included in the update e-mail sent to the customer.
1 voteHi Dan,
Although there’s currently no specific field for this in order manager, what you can do is add an order note. The note text can contain these details, emails the user and update the status at the same time. -
Admin side redesign
The admin side needs a new clean, simple and modern style.
Ideas we are playing with:
- Fluid design to maximize screen real estate
- Simplified menu with hierarchy of actions
- Improved menu filter to work off similar words or tags to return menu links easier.
- Modular design to the dashboard to allow you to customize what data your presented with when you first log in.
- More workflow based links rather than specific sections.(Please suggest ideas for this as comments)

Google analytics stats dashboard
Currently the stats on the admin dashboard are our own, but for 100% consistency with Google analytics's we should pull in their reported stats.
